About the Opportunity

This role will play a critical part in strengthening Council’s workforce capability during a period of growth, leading high‑quality, timely and culturally appropriate recruitment across a broad range of roles. Working closely with the Manager – People & Capability, the HR Advisor (Recruitment) will:

  • Lead end‑to‑end recruitment processes
  • Partner with managers to identify workforce needs
  • Support position design and recruitment alignment
  • Provide practical HR advice to support recruitment outcomes

Location: Townsville (with potential travel as required)

Engagement: Short‑term contract (labour hire or direct engagement considered)

Salary Guide: $90,000 – $105,000 pro rata (or equivalent daily/contract rate, depending on engagement method)

Who Should Apply

We welcome interest from candidates with demonstrated experience in:

  • Leading end‑to‑end recruitment, including sourcing, screening, and selection
  • Managing high‑volume or hard‑to‑fill recruitment in a complex environment
  • Partnering with managers to deliver practical, timely hiring outcomes

Candidates with experience in local government and who can operate with autonomy, pace, and strong recruitment judgement will be highly regarded.
